It’s a Kidz First Christmas

On Friday, 15 December, Kidz First hosted a Christmas party in their main reception where staff could come along, listen to carols, see Santa, and donate gifts towards the Middlemore Foundation Christmas appeal.

The event launched the Middlemore Foundation campaign with Dave Latele which helps provide Christmas gifts and BBM Food Share Packs for South Auckland families who have been doing it tough, have sick kids, or kids with a disability.

A holiday atmosphere filled the air with staff decked out in Christmas attire enjoying themselves and chatting with Santa (aka Alan Parker from healthAlliance).

The reception area looked less like a children's hospital reception and more like a Christmas grotto, with beautiful decorations kindly donated by Colliers on behalf of Highbury Shopping Centre and Christmas trees, donated by Celebrations Group.

The final magical touch was provided by the Play Specialist Team and the Freemasons who generously donated their time to decorate the space.

Christmas tunes sounded out with staff from both our Maaori and Pacific teams entertaining everyone who attended.

“It was a lovely atmosphere and great to have the opportunity for so many of our teams from around the hospital and community to come together and enjoy the Christmas festivities,” says Carmel Ellis, General Manager, Kidz First.

Vanessa Thornton, Group Director Operations, and Sanjoy Nand, Chief of Allied Health, Scientific and Technical Professions, attended the event and thanked everyone for their hard work this year and their generosity donating gifts.
