Celebrating Allied Health Professions Day

Natasha Pool - Pharmacist

“I’m Natasha Pool, a pharmacist at Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau.

It’s an honour to be asked to help celebrate the Allied Health Professionals annual day on October 14th and our special awards ceremony on the 17th.

I’ve been at Middlemore for two years, and previously I worked at Te Toka Tumai, Auckland.

My previous professional experiences were in Australia, Ireland and the UK.

At Counties I work closely with the Infectious Diseases, Microbiology and OPAT teams to review and monitor patients prescribed antibiotics and optimise the treatment patients are receiving.

An important intervention is changing people from intravenous to oral antibiotics.

It’s a challenging job with lots of rewards in the form of good patient outcomes.”
