I write in response to your Official Information Act request, dated 03 March 2020.
You requested the following information:
1.The total number of patients who have waited longer than six hours in the emergency department (ED) each month for the last five years (Jan 2015 - Dec 2019), with a breakdown by gender, ethnicity and age.
2.The total number of people prescribed painkillers after presenting to ED each month for the last five years (Jan 2015 -Dec 2019), with a breakdown by gender, ethnicity and age.
3.The shortest, average and longest wait time for a patient to be referred from the emergency department to the Gynaecology department each month for the last five years. (Jan 2015 – Dec2019).
4.The shortest, average and longest wait time for a patient to be referred from the emergency department to the Cardiology department each month for the last five years. (Jan 2015- Dec2019).
5.The shortest, average and longest wait time for a patient to be referred from the emergency department to the Urology department each month for the last five years (Jan 2015- Dec2019).
6.The number of declined referrals from the emergency department each month for the last fiveyears (Jan 2015 to Dec 2019), with a break down by gender, ethnicity and age.
7.The total number of complaints received by the DHB relating a referral to a mental health service, each month for the last five years (Jan 2015 - Dec 2019) with a breakdown by gender, ethnicity and age.

The information sought in this request is to be used as part of a report by the New Zealand Herald into gender bias within the health system.
