At Counties Manukau we mark International Nurses Day, May 12 by celebrating the great mahi being done across our services by our nurses.
We’d like to introduce you to Arnold Dela Cruz, who has a busy but rewarding role in Middlemore’s Discharge Lounge.
Arnold came to Counties last year after a very intense job in Dubai as a Covid response nurse.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in his home country, the Philippines, and has a total of four and a half years in nursing positions.
Arnold says he fulfils a variety of roles in the Discharge Lounge setting including preparing the all-important discharge paperwork and keeping a close eye on departing patients.
“I love my work here,” says Arnold, “the patients treat us very well – in fact in a lot friendlier way than in other countries!
“I think I will be in this role for quite a while.”
