Media Release 12  May 2020 | Counties Manukau Health (CM Health) welcomes today’s Budget 2020 announcement of increased investment in hospitals and health services.

Budget 2020 will deliver an extra $3.92 billion ($980 million per year). The budget will also provide a one off boost of $282.5 million for planned care over the next three years to catch up following COVID -19 delays, and ongoing funding of $31.350 million per year.

CM Health Chair Vui Mark Gosche says extra funding for planned care is particularly good news.

“This is a positive move because it will allow us to better meet the needs of our diverse population, many of which are vulnerable and have complex health needs.”

CM Health does not expect to know the details of its funding allocation until after Thursday’s full announcement.
