The new chair of Counties Manukau Health, Vui Mark Gosche, yesterday toured Middlemore site buildings, including the Galbraith and Scott buildings and KidzFirst.
Next week (16 May) the Board will receive a report about the Galbraith building, including an expert, peer reviewed report about its earthquake status.
The Board will consider the options and costs of seismic strengthening. That advice includes considerations on the detailed engineering works that would be required and the impact on services.
It is likely that the DHB will be required to notify the public of the seismic status of Galbraith before options for strengthening are considered.
